REDEEMING LIFE MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL
Church History
Every Ministry Has a Story — This Is Ours.
1997
Where it all began
The ministry was established in July 1997 in the basement of the home of Bishop Daniel and Pastor Barbara Salley as a weekly Bible study. What began with their family of five soon welcomed a few others who gathered to grow in faith, laying the foundation for what would become a thriving ministry.
1998
A New Beginning
On the first Sunday of 1998, the ministry held its grand opening in a banquet hall at the Ramada Inn in Oxon Hill, Maryland. This marked a significant step forward as the ministry moved from a home setting into a public worship environment.
1998-1999
Building Consistency
Following the grand opening, the ministry established regular Sunday morning services along with weekly evening Bible studies. Services were held in reserved spaces at the Holiday Inn in Waldorf, Maryland through December 1999, providing a consistent place for worship, teaching, and spiritual growth.
2000-2011
Growing The Vision
The ministry relocated to White Plains, Maryland, where services continued for over a decade. During this time, the church experienced steady growth, strengthening its programs, deepening its teaching, and expanding its reach within the community.
2011
A Place To Call Home
In November 2011, a major milestone was reached as the ministry purchased land and constructed its own church building at 7845 Port Tobacco Road in Port Tobacco, Maryland. This marked a new season of stability, growth, and expanded opportunity for ministry.
Present
Continuing The Journey
Through the years, the Lord has remained faithful, and the ministry has continued to grow in both impact and excellence. RLMI has developed strong church programs while also becoming a valued resource within the surrounding communities.
The ministry is recognized for its expression of Godly love, family unity, and the unadulterated teaching of the Word of God under the leadership of Bishop Daniel and Pastor Barbara Salley.
As the vision continues to unfold, RLMI remains committed to advancing the Kingdom of God—equipped, compelled, and led by the Holy Spirit. With faith as its foundation, the ministry moves forward with expectation, trusting that what God has spoken will come to pass.
